Napoleons Primary school has a unique history, with two school sites since 1870. The school's current population is 80 students with a bright future that includes being the host school for a new Napoleons Kindergarten which is scheduled to begin operation in January 2024.
The school grounds are expansive, with opportunities for all children to engage in a range of sports and activities. Napoleons Primary school continually strives to celebrate our successes and we continue to seek improvement in all that we do.
We believe that the locality of the school itself is not only very attractive, but also conducive to a curriculum very much associated with hands-on and personalised learning.
We provide a rich learning approach to the core areas of Literacy, Numeracy , Science, Technology, Enginering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and Humanities. We offer a Chinese Mandarin language program in conjunction with Qingdao University in China, Physical Education and Performing and Visual arts as vital aspects of a complete school program. Our school library is a real focus for our students, allowing them to develop as avid readers in a rich reading environment and this year, we have added to our library resources with a visiting MARC Van (library truck with a teacher to support Literacy and Humanities learning).
We have recently been sponsored by Golden Plains Shire to operate a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Rural program. This means gardening, cooking and, of course, eating!
We understand that learning does not happen without wellbeing and a positive mental health. We incorporate the principles of the Rights Responsibilities and Respectful Relationships program throughout our learning and within a broader, School Wide Positive Behaviours program.
We strive for a learning environment that is caring and considerate of others and we embrace diversity across our school community.
In 2022 we began an Outside School Hours Care program with both before and afterschool care.
As a school our purpose is to provide rich learning and opportunities for students to develop their academic, social, emotional and physical potential in a supported and dynamic learning environment. As ongoing learners, we are a dedicated community that is committed to our school values of Respect, Creativity, Perseverance and Belonging.
